We’ve been here a long time — nearly forty years on Mostyn Street — and we plan on being here a good while longer. The Habit is a family-run café where the coffee is freshly ground, the cakes are made in-house, and there’s always a warm welcome whether you’re a familiar face or visiting North Wales for the first time.

Come in for a full Welsh breakfast, a bowl of soup and a sandwich, something from the specials board, or simply a great flat white and somewhere comfortable to sit. We’re open seven days a week and there’s usually a table waiting.

Breakfast All Day
From a full cooked Welsh breakfast to Eggs Benedict, our breakfast menu is served all day. Whether you want it at 9am or 3pm, we’ve got you covered. If you’re seriously hungry, ask about the Big Daddy.

Homemade Cakes
Our cake display changes regularly and the carrot cake has developed something of a reputation. There is a different line up of cakes every day. Come see what’s on offer today.

Dog Friendly
Well-behaved dogs are very welcome inside The Habit. We’ve got water, lead hooks, dog treats and staff who genuinely love meeting your four-legged customers.

A Bit About Us

The Habit has been part of Llandudno since 1982. What started as a small café on Mostyn Street has grown into something we’re really proud of — a place where locals come for their morning ritual, families stop in after a walk on the Great Orme, and visitors find somewhere unpretentious and genuinely good.

We’re not a chain. Every dish is made to order and the people serving you are part of a team that genuinely cares about your visit. That’s the kind of place we’ve always tried to be, and it’s what we’ll keep doing.

We also have a book exchange, a cookbook exchange, a poetry shelf, an art shelf, and a home and garden shelf — because we think a good café should feel like more than somewhere to eat.
